Week 10 Scheduling Update and Important Dates

As we approach the final few weeks of the season, we want to share several important reminders and upcoming dates.

Week 10 Game Schedule (Week of 2/9)

The Week 10 game schedule is unusually complex. During the week, some of our Boys Travel teams will participate in the Travel “play-in” round. Teams that win will advance to the Elite 8, which will be played at neutral sites on either February 14 or February 15. Final locations and times will not be known until the play-in games conclude and the boys’ travel organization publishes its schedule. The girls travel league undergoes a similar process, but one week later.  Because of this uncertainty, there may be delays in publishing the Rec schedule as we work to fairly accommodate players and coaches who participate in both Rec and Travel.

Make-Up Games from January 25

We still have 12 make-up games from January 25 that were canceled due to snow. These games will be played during the week of February 9 or early in the week of February 16. As with Week 10 scheduling, we are doing our best to anticipate gym needs while accounting for travel playoffs and limited availability.

Rec Playoffs Beginning Week of 2/16

Rec playoff week will begin the week of February 16. There are no playoffs for the Minis Division.  Pending weather or gym cancellations, the tentative plan is as follows:

• Play-In Rounds (Week of 2/16): Used to reduce divisions to 8 or 4 teams as needed.
  Example: Minor Boys has 9 teams. The 8th and 9th place teams will play during the week so that 8 teams advance to the weekend.
  Example: Minor Girls and Varsity each have 6 teams. The 3rd place team will play the 6th place team, and the 4th place team will play the 5th place team, so the division is reduced to 4 teams.
• First Round: Played over the weekend of February 20–22.
• Semi-Finals: Minor Boys, Junior Boys, and Senior Boys will play semi-finals during the week of February 23. Minor Girls, Senior Girls, and Varsity will not have weeknight semi-finals, as championship matchups will be set after February 20–22.
• Championship Games: All championship games will be played on Sunday, March 1.
