Summer League Rules Supplement
Game Format
Games consist of two 20-minute halves with a running clock, except for the final two minutes of each half, which follow normal stop-clock rules.
Clock will continue running during water breaks in extreme heat conditions.
Overtime is 3 minutes with a running clock until the final minute, which is stop-clock. Each coach receives one timeout (no carryover from regulation).
Substitution Rules
Every player must enter the game at least once every four minutes. Coaches must clear the bench at each 4-minute interval.
Coaches may substitute freely in the final 4 minutes of each half.
Timeouts & Fouls
Two timeouts per half (do not carry over).
Team foul bonus begins at 7 fouls. Team fouls reset at halftime.
Pressing Rules (Same as Winter Season)
Minis (youngest division): No pressing allowed except for the final 30 seconds of each half.
Minor Boys and Minor Girls: No pressing allowed until the final 1 minute of each half.
All other divisions: Follow standard high school press rules.
Team Format
Varsity Division: 5-on-5 play
All other divisions: 4-on-4 play
Weather Policy (Regular Season Only)
If a weather event (e.g., rain or lightning) causes a game to be ended early:
If less than 10 minutes remain in the second half when the game is stopped, the score at the time of stoppage will be final and the game will not be rescheduled.
If more than 10 minutes remain, the game will be made up at a later date, resuming with the same score and time remaining as when it was stopped.
